Sindh Board β€” Class 9 Note: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) was established in 1950 and conducts SSC Part I examinations. Class 9 exams are generally held in March. Students must study 4 compulsory + 3 elective subjects for a total of 550 marks. Passing marks are 33% (182/550).

Matric Board Exam Note (Karachi): BSEK Karachi (est. 1950) is the authority conducting SSC Part II (Class 10) exams. The SSC certificate is awarded upon successful completion of both Parts I & II. Science group students must also appear in practicals for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. BIEK Karachi was formed in 1974 and handles intermediate education.

BIEK Karachi β€” Class 11 Note: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) was established in 1962 (originally as part of BISE) and became independent. It conducts HSSC Part I (Class 11) and Part II (Class 12) exams. Available streams include: Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science (Computer), Humanities (Regular & Private), Commerce (Regular & Private), Medical Technology, and Home Economics. Exams are held in April–May each year.

Class 12 β€” HSSC Part II (Intermediate)

The final Intermediate year. Class 12 board results determine university admissions. BIEK Karachi announces results in July–August after April/May exams.

BIEK Karachi announces the 12th class result during July or August, three to four months after the annual exams held in April–May. The HSSC certificate combining Part I & Part II results is required for undergraduate admissions across Sindh universities.
